About Us

The Association of Wholesale Distributors of Medicines (AVEL) is an open interest association of legal entities founded for the purpose of creating a platform for presenting the views of traditional wholesale distributors operating throughout Slovakia on the issues of pharmaceutical legislation and current topics of the entire pharmaceutical chain. Its goal is primarily to help solve the difficult situation on the drug market by jointly finding solutions and proposing measures to ensure the availability of drugs for pharmacies and patients, but also to provide professional help and advice in matters related to the purpose and goals of this association.

AVEL is a member of GIRP - European Healthcare Distribution Association - girp.eu. In cooperation with associations of EU member countries, it participates in the creation of conditions for wholesale distribution of medicines in the European Union.

AVEL is a member of the National Union of Employers - ruzsr.sk. Monitors legislative changes, enforces measures in favor of professional aspects of drug distribution and a favorable business environment.
